Thank you for the potential opportunity to work with your organization.
You will not find anything on my background I just want to be honest up front. I need 30 hours of community service for a DWI I work go to school and have a child of my own. I wanted to do my hours with something that is helpful to mothers or children. I have been there before and would love to give back. I am willing to just do office work if I am not eligible to actually work with the women and child. Hope to hear from you soon.
Thank you
Ashley Heigel

I am needing to volunteer for at least 30 hours for my social work class at Saint Louis University. I chose this institution to volunteer at because I love children I use to work at a daycare. My mother was not a teenager when she had my brother and I but she was very young so I found it very interesting. I have a helping personality and would love to help in any way I can. I also live really close to Almost Home.

I am in the pre-health club here at Saint Louis University. For the club I need 15 hours of continuous service every semester. My friend has volunteered for you and said she loved it and recommended I try it out. I did a lot of volunteer work in high school and would love to carry that on in college. Hope to hear from you guys soon!
Thank you,
John Bovill

Hello! I am a current graduate student and graduate assistant at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO. I am currently going to school to receive my Master’s Degree in Public Administration. This is my first semester of graduate school.
I would like to volunteer mostly during winter break, spring break and possibly summer break. Also I would like to help out on events as well, depending on the exact dates and how in advance I am aware of them.
Hi Renelle! Thanks for your interest in volunteering at Almost Home. If you haven’t already done so, please fill out our volunteer form at http://www.almosthomestl.org/volunteer and our Volunteer Coordintor will be in contact with you shortly to get you started.
I’ve been knitting for about 65 years - yes, a very long tine. Most recently I’ve knitted for out-state charities, NMCRS, and KnitForKids.org.. The postage is getting to be prohibitive. While reading this week’s St. Louis Review, I noticed that Sister Nora Therese Buckley had served at Almost Home, an organization I wasn’t aware of.
If you have a need for hats, scarves, or children’s sweaters, I’d be happy to make them and bring them down to you on my trips to the Ronald McDonald House.
Hi Fran!
It would be so great if you could do some knitting for our teen moms and their babies. We are alays in need of winter clothing, and the girls would love to have something handmade. If you contact Harper, our Volunteer Coordinator at 314.771.4663. or hzielonko@almosthomestl.org, she would be happy to set up a time for you to bring everything by. Thank you for your support!
I’m studying to be a teacher and have already had a background check done by my program at WashU. What do I need to provide to show proof of this?
Hi Lisa,
Unfortunately, we need to run our own background check, so have your social security card on you if you come in for a volunteer interview. Our apologies for any inconvenience and thanks so much for your interest in Almost Home!
